Pea Coat

Brad walks into the office as Katie sits at her desk, deciding whether or not to take off her pea coat because the office is a little cold.  Brad grabs a hand full of candy corn from Jenny's candy dish and says hi to the ladies.  His eyes linger on Katie for a minute longer before saying to both of the  women, "You know, every time I see a pea coat it reminds me of something, but I won't say it." as he smiles.
"What is it Brad, you can say it." Jenny says, knowing it won't take much to get a story out of Brad.
"OK fine." acting as if we've tortured him for information.  "Once a stripper came here to the station and she was wearing a pea coat."
We all laugh as Brad explains that Alana ordered a stripper for one of the previous Fire Fighter's birthday.  Katie decides to take off the coat and stands up.  The pea coat only goes down to her waist and I laugh to tears by imagining a stripper wearing a pea coat that only goes to her waist and that she's only wearing underware.  Brad starts to catch on about what I might be thinking.
"Of course her coat was a lot longer!  Not that it mattered when she was stripped down to nothin'!" Brad exclaims.

Socks and Shoes

This is a true story:

A group of young Fire Fighters were getting their physicals.  As each one finished in the exam room they waited in their Fire engine.  Each of the young men were a bit nervous as the doctor was a beautiful woman.  It was finally the last one's turn.  He went into the exam room with the nurse.  The nurse asked the man to take off his clothes, put on a hospital gown, (the kind that has a couple of ties in the back), but to leave on his socks and shoes.  As the nurse left, the young man was thinking her instructions were a bit odd to take off all of his clothes and then put his shoes back on so he decided to undress but only leave his socks on with the gown.  After a while the woman doctor came into the exam room.  While preforming the examination she asked the man to bend over so she could look at the alignment of his spine.  He turned around and did as she asked. He could hear a bit of a smirk which only embarrassed him even more as he was now showing her everything he could possibly bare.  Afterwards, the doctor quickly thanked him and rushed out of the room for the man to get dressed.  When he got back into the engine with the other guys to leave he said, "That was weird of the nurse to ask us to leave our socks and shoes on."  The other men started roaring in laughter and one of them replied, "She said to leave your socks and shorts on!"

A very special true story

The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving....

Irena Sendler

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the! war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming. Powerful message, especially the "cartoon." Let us never forget!

63 years later. It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, 6 million Jews and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated with the German and Russian Peoples looking the other way!
Now, more than ever, with Iraq , Iran , and others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again.

Look closely at her picture. I believe you are looking into the eyes of a true angel!
